In Cyberpunk 2077, you get to drive a lot of different cars and other vehicles. From serious junkers to more advanced futuristics cars. What they don’t tell you is how to honk the horn. Honking the horn is required for certain quests and just plain fun. Below I’ll show you how to honk the horn on PC and consoles.
To honk your horn in Cyberpunk 2077, press the Left-CTRL key for PC, the L3 button for Xbox, and the L3 button for Play Station.
- PC = Left-CTRL key
- Xbox = L3 button (Left Stick Down)
- Play Station = L3 button (Left Stick Down)
Check Settings For Honking Keybinds
If those controls don’t work for you, then you’ve likely changed your default keybindings for honking the horn. You can find your keybindings through the following path:
Menu > Settings > Key Bindings
The vehicle controls are at the bottom, so you’ll need to scroll down. You’ll see the horn option near the bottom of the Vehicle Controls on the left with the current key on the right. Just click to open a dialogue to change it if you want.
Honking the Horn for the Send in the Clowns Quest
There is a side quest in Cyberpunk 2077 called Send in the Clowns. Most likely, the reason you’ve come here in the first place. It requires you to use the horn on your car to advance the quest.
In this quest, you get the nod to become a futuristic Uber driver. You’ll drive to a location and park outside a building in Japantown. Then you honk your horn, and the passenger with some interesting nasal mods comes out.
Car and Pedestrian AI While Honking the Horn
I’ve done some testing with horn in-game. I’ve tried honking at pedestrians walking on the sidewalk as I drive towards them or from behind them, and honking your horn doesn’t seem to have any effect on them.
Likewise, I’ve tried honking at cars when in traffic, and they don’t react to honking the horn in any way that I can discern. They continue ahead, oblivious to my obvious need.
I wish that the horn had some effect on the AI, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Cyberpunk 2077.
